For Tobin's Eighth Birthday

After a year full of time-honoured festivities,
Such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and the Namesake Day,
Cherishing the past festivals and activities,
On Thursday we shall celebrate Tobin's eighth birthday!

While still seven, Tobin saw a few more regions in rough,
Travelled through a wild and beautiful Western zona.
Realms of rocks, coyotes, bisons and stuff,
Wyoming, Yellowstone, Utah, and Arizona.

Everywhere he went, Tobin was ready for operations;
He kayaked, pitched a tent, observed geysers, constellations.
After all, the world is there to make your own relations,
Through courage, creativity, idealism, investigations.

Tobin and his brother Oliver, two best mates,
Great fans of Stevie Wander's and Santana' rock,
Swayed to the rhythm of the beat at fetes,
Navigating the sounds of funk and jazz, and the Latin block.

After holidays, continuing in the second grade,
Tobin has invited to his birthday his old school buddies.
Dear Tobin, receive from us too an accolade -
Your uncle Alex, baka and deda wish you lots of happiness,
And success in your studies!

May you spend your birthday merrily - that's your forte,
Make sure to blow the birtday candles clear!
Have some sandwiches and a piece of birthday torte,
