For Oliver's First Birthday

First birthdays are greatest fun,
And today Oliver celebrates his first one.
For this occasion let me be clear,
Tobin's little brother and his best chum,
Has his sweetest grins reserved
For Tobin, his Dad and Mom.
 
A strong and determined boy,
Oliver in his exploratory stage,
Is quite adept at making a rampage.
Tiny Lego pieces are tempting to engage
Having mastered walking at such a tender age.
 
"Ah" - exclaims Oliver in awe and joy,
"Eh" - he has discovered a hidden toy.
"Av" - what is Bodhis up to?
"Ha" - let me put on my brand new shoe.
 
'Danas nam je divan dan', a jolly good fellow,
A vigorous and playful little sparrow,
With hair of gold and probing eyes of blue,
Sweet Oliver, happy first birthday to you!
