For Tobin’s First Birthday

Today our delightful and sweet Tobin,
Boundless, precious, with happy strides -
A daring, brilliant, and beautiful robin,
Through his first birthday merrily glides!

Let the choir’s harmony ring,
Let the hummingbird’s song fly,
Let the blueness of the ocean bring
The color azure to the sky!

The shell embraces the ocean strand,
The past creates the present crush,
We walk barefooted in the sand,
A young little bird flew out of the brush.

On the second month, the ninth day,
Hands turning quickly on a clock,
From stork’s flight to his first birthday,
Tobin learned to crawl and then to walk.

May you live long and grow up tall,
The brightest star in the sky ascends,
Loving the books, music and the ball,
May you speed your tricycle around all bends!
